12/06/2009 Ogof Ffynnon Ddu - BP gets down and dirty!

You don’t know if you need to keep up, or down with Black Planet Photography. Here they get down and dirty deep underground in Ogof Fynnon Ddu, one of the the deepest caves in Great Britain. Situated in the Upper Swansea valley and carrying an active flood prone river it is 1000ft deep and has over 30 miles of maze-like passages The logistics of merely getting to places to take photographs is challenging enough in itself.

Before any shooting can be done there is lots of tortuous climbing, crawling through tight passages and wading through deep icy cold water. All this and trying to keep one’s photo gear dry and clean is a nightmare. Still BP were able to come back with some stunning pictures for the latest assignment.
